well it's that time of year again where Blogger is being filled with everyone's favorite products/outfits/whatnots of the year that is about to come to an end. 2012 has been a bit of a 'roller coaster' year for me, plenty of ups and downs and unexpected twists. but one major plus of this year has been this amazing beauty bloggers community and all of the amazing girls i have met because of it!
but enough with all the mushy talk.. onto the topic of discussion!
i thought i would share with you my favorite makeup brushes from this past year since we all use them and it's pretty much the one constant in anyones daily routine.
now don't let this picture confuse you, i do use more than 3 brushes when i apply my face makeup but these were the ones that impressed me the most! truly don't know what my face would look like everyday without these beauts.
MAC 168 this is the brush i use to apply blush with. 'blush you say?!' yes blush! it's perfect for getting the perfect angle you need in order to swoop your blush from the apples of your cheeks upwards towards your cheek bone. it also doesn't apply the blush too heavily like most thicker brushes do, so you don't have to worry about there being a giant blob of pink on your cheek that you'll need to buff out later.
Real Techniques Buffing Brush where the HELL has this brush been all my life?! i swear Sam Chapman needs to win some big award for coming out with this range because they are pure genius. i used to always think you needed to apply foundation with a 'foundation brush'.. silly me! but this thing does the work of 1,000 foundation brushes even better. the application is flawless and there are never any streaks left behind. another bonus (which i'm a bit embarrassed to admit to) is that it doesn't need to be washed as frequently as you would think. you still get amazing results!
Real Techniques Contour Brush contouring is something i started doing regularly quite recently (a.k.a a month ago) so i bet you're wondering why i chose to include this brush in my favorites since i just started really using it a month ago.. and it's because it has made the act of contouring a breeeeeze for a newbie such as myself! the brush fits perfectly into the hallows of my cheeks when i make that infamous duck face so i don't have to worry about applying my bronzer in the right place. it also blends quite well on it's own if you use circular motions when contouring so you don't need to spend as much time buffering afterwards!
what have been your favorite face brushes of 2012? xoxo
I love RT brushes, they are just amazing! I use the contour one for blusher as it's the perfect size! I use an almost identical one for highlighter too though, such a good shape xx
