rotten grapefruit

I was sent a sample of Neutrogena's Pink Grapefruit Oil-Free Acne Wash with an order I placed with Ulta a couple of weeks ago. I've read only a couple of reviews on this product so didn't quite have any expectations or have any idea on what to expect! Unfortunately, I was not very impressed by this product at all.

For starters, the product claims to be a 'foaming scrub' which would leave you to believe that once applied to your face with water it will foam up, right? well either I was sent a dud sample or it just simply doesn't foam because even after adding more water to my face when washing it, the gel still didn't foam up.
as you can see by the picture above, there are also little micro beads which are meant to exfoliate your face as well as cleanse. I thought this was going to be an added bonus since you basically get two products in one! but after washing the product off, my face felt extremely dry and as if a layer of film was left on top (yuck!) i fixed the dryness issue by applying a generous amount of moisturizer afterwards but that was a major turn-off for me!

needless to say, this product was not what it claims to be. thankfully I was only given a sample size and didn't waste my money with a full size bottle. have any of you ever tried this product? what are your thoughts?
xoxo

  3. I really liked the sound of this but not so much after reading your review! It's so annoying when a product fails to deliver on pretty much everything it claims but at least you haven't wasted any money on it xx

  5. I actually swear by this foaming scrub and the matching facial cleanser. I've been using them both for over two years now and they work wonders for my combination oily skin. I agree that the foaming scrub doesn't "foam up", but I certainly don't need a large amount to work up a generous lather. I've never had problems with dryness either as moisturising (with a neutrogena product as well) is part of my normal morning routine, so maybe it just works differently for different skin types. I don't mean to sound like a neutrogena campaign, in fact I've tried some of their other cleansers/scrubs in the past and broken out in a nasty rash, but their grapefruit range is a staple for me so I thought I'd put my two cents in. :P

Sorry it didn't work out for you hun! xx
